Somebody who can help me to find a solution for;

I have apps running vb 6 sp 6 cr 8.5 ; I am migrating this to CR XI R2 SP6 with windows 7 Home premium 64 bits at the time of the first vb compilation I got crpttoprinter variable not defined, I suppose something is missing in references / components for my vb project.

I will appreciate alot your help

Need to download a Crystal 8.5 Hotfix

I am looking for the following:

Symptom

The Crpe32.dll is creating a file, Event.log, in the same directory as the application or report if any API call fails.

 

Resolution

This is a known issue with Crystal Reports (CR) version 8.5 and Crystal Enterprise (CE) version 8.0.2.672 and has been tracked. The Track ID is: ADAPT00012370. This issue has been assigned the Escalation ID (EID) 1906.

The SAP Patch ID for the hotfix is 34902021.  Please let me know where this can be downloaded.

Crystal Report Viewer Windows 7 64-bit

Dear experts,

 

Our Add-On is developed in VB6, and we have our standard reports designed with Crystal Reports 2008. We ship our application with Crystal runtimes of same version.

The problem is, on some Windows 7 64-bit systems, when the user runs the reports, then the viewer launches minimized on the task bar and the user cannot preview the reports.

Does anyone know why this happens ?

I really need some help. I have a VB 6 application with reports designed using Crystal Reports 8.5. The VB 6 application is running fine except the reports are crashing. Can crystal reports be loaded on Windows 8.1 ? If not, what dll's I need to import?

VB6 Crystal 8 run time error 20534 "error detected by database dll"

Help!  I've inherited a VB6 that launches a Crystal report from within; it is using Crystal 8.

 

The error I'm getting is "Run time error 20534, Error detected by database dll".  When I step through in the debugger, the offending line in the VB code is the ".Action=1" command that I understand actually executes the report.

 

From what I read online, the 20534 error is mostly a generic crystal message that covers a variety of things.  For the database dll message, most things point to a problem in the query the report is running.  Here's the problem - I can open and run the report in report designer just fine.  No problems at all.  In fact, I can debug the VB, and while it's sitting at the .Action line erroring out, I can open the .rpt file and run it and it pulls the current data I'm expecting.

 

What the heck do I try next?  Other crystal reports work on the same server that this is running from, and reinstalling crystal isn't really an option.  Is there a DLL I can try and reregister?  Is there something else to try?  Thanks much for ANY ideas or help!

Crystal report active x viewer not displaying in chrome, Firefox and IE(10,11)

I have a web application in classic asp and for reporting I am using Crystal Report 11.5 in the application. When I am trying to print the report, the crystal report viewer(crystalreportviewers115) is not displaying in Chrome, Firefox and IE (10, 11) .But it is working properly in IE 7, 8, 9. Please provide a solution. Do i need to change my asp code?

Crystal Reports 8.5 export to PDF problem

Hi Guys,

 

I have an application developed in VB6 using a crystal reports 8.5 version and I'm having some problems to export to PDF. If I see the data on the Crystal Reports 8.5 designer It will export just fine, but if I try to do the same thing it will export only some information to the pdf file.

 

This problem is just happening on rpt with Image Object and I can't export the reports where image do not exist. This image is being loaded from an access 97 database. It is a 10 years old program.

 

Hope to get this issue solved.

cannot register crystl32.ocx in Windows 7

I have trouble registering crystl32.ocx in Windows 7. The error message is "The module crystl32.ocx failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the sepecified path or debug it to check the problems with the binary or dependent .dll" files. The crystl32.ocx is indeed there under the system32 folder.

 

I have been researching on the internet and still can not register it. Any help?

Regsvr32 craxdrt.dll ( Version 11.5.8.826 )

Hi,

 

I have installed in the Crystal Reports developer Edition R2 SP2 on my machine.

I could find the craxdrt.dll which is required by my VB6 code refrences cestions to display a reports in VB6.0 application.

 

As I need to run the VB6.0 application and the report in a different machine. I have copied the craxdrt.dll file into the new system and when I try to register the craxdrt.dll file into the registery by putting the file into the C:\WINNT\System32\ folder and goind to the command window

 

C:\WINNT\System32> regsvr32  craxdrt.dll

 

then I get the following error message :

 

regsvr32

-

Loadlibrary("craxdrt.dll") failed - the specified module could not be found

 

 

 

 

But I am actually able to do the same thing for regitering the craxdrt.dll for 8.5 version and 11.0 version, using the regsvr32 craxdrt.dll file in the Command window. 

 

Please let me know how can I register the craxdrt.dll file for 11.5.8.826 version from the command window, for accessing the dll reference from the VB6.0 applicaion code. I have the reports developed in the Crystal reports XI R2 SP2 version, which I need to run in the new systems with VB6.0 code.

Error accessing the system registry - VB6 / Win7 / CR8

Hello,

 

I am changing my development machine to a new one, going from Windows XP to Windows 7 32-bit.

With the old machine I had an error message when trying to open the References of some VB6 project.

According to this thread it occurs after installing CR8:

The execution of the procedure with Scr8_webregfix.exe was successful under WinXP, but now, on Win7, it is not possible, for security reasons (it doesn't allow to schedule the cmd.exe in interactive mode). The message given by the O.S. suggests the use of the command SCHTASKS, but I tried in several ways and no one was successful.

 

Does someone know a workaround to this issue?

 

P.S.: I need to have installed CR8, CRXI and CRXIR2 for the several applications I have to give maintenance.

Crystal Reports XI Invalid or Expired Product Key

I am trying to maintain an old Legacy VB6 program with embedded Crystal Reports XI Release 2 reports (11.5.0.313). We purchased copy
of Crystal Report XI Release 2 in 2007 with what has been a valid license key. I had the software installed on my Windows 7 workstation and all was working without issue.

    

I attempted to build the project that contains this embedded Crystal Report and it complained about the license or product key. It is looking for the CrystalReports.MSI file. I inserted the CD and browsed to the file, but it said that it was not valid. I found the SP4, SP6, and SP10 packages and tried installing those, but it said that Crystal Reports XI was not installed. I can't start the Crystal Reports development package either.

    

I uninstalled the software and attempted to re-install. It says the Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Setup has an invalid or expired product. I had our people check and we are not aware of any expiration date on our developer package. I am currently dead in the water. I have searched Google for answers related to this question, but have not found anything. As I said, this is a legacy project that we are hoping to maintain with minimal effort until the current contract dies. Can you help?

Application crash when Exporting Report as PDF on Windows 10 64 Bit

Good afternoon from Italy!

 

My application is developed in VB6 with Cr XI R2 (11.5.12.1838) and continues to work although the components are not more supported.

In the last installation on a Windows 10 / 64 Bit machine my application crashes, when exporting the report as PDF FIle to disk:

the first export works fine

when I exit the Preview and reenter, the second export cause my application to crash (!?)

Our VB 6 application uses Crystal Report 8 for reports. After upgrading SQL Server 2000 database to SQL Server 2008 R2, reports stopped working. The error message it displays is "Cannot open SQL Server". The ODBC that is used to connect to the database shows successful test connection. And I am also able to preview the report from Segate Crystal Reports application.

 

Any ideas will be highly appreciable.

Hi,

 

I have installed the Crystal Reports XI Developer Edition Service Pack 2 Release 2.

I need to run these reports in XP machines. For downloading the Redistributable MSI file to be installed in the XP machines I was not able to find the MSI for Crystal reports Developer edition in the following site:

In this link I could find dowload for MSI file only for the Crystal XI only for the .Net version of the Crystal reports. Could you please let me know the site from which I can download the redstributable for the Developer edition 11.5.8 ?

Error:997 Failed to Retrieve Error Message from Print Engine

Hello using Borland C++ 6 and CR8.5 and just on a single workstation we are getting the error above.  All other workstations are working fine and using XP Pro.  Any ideas besides copying CR8.5 dll's everywhere (already done that).  Any direction would be awesome.  Thank you.

Download Location for Latest Crystal 8.5 RDC Components

Could someone point out where we could get the latest Crystal 8.5 RDC components (main as well as database and export files)? 

 

Trying to use the download site (https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm) doesn't lead to reliable results because entries that appear under a Crystal 8.5 filter actually belong to Crystal 9 or even 10.

 

I'm hunting for the most recent files because of pdf export failures. Even my development machine and even Crystal 8.5 itself is experiencing this problem (so I can't use the modules utility to isolate the issue). A separate thread (Re: Export to PDF) seems to indicate that using exportmodeller.dll (8.6.2.440) and crtslv.dll (8.6.1.726) solves that issue.

 

In case someone is tempted to deflect the question by suggesting I use later versions than 8.5, most of my users indeed use the more recent versions (I have 8.5, 9, XI R2, and 2008 versions).  However, there are cases where the data source is simply not compatible with any Crystal version later than 8.5.
