I am trying to maintain an old Legacy VB6 program with embedded Crystal Reports XI Release 2 reports (11.5.0.313). We purchased copy
of Crystal Report XI Release 2 in 2007 with what has been a valid license key. I had the software installed on my Windows 7 workstation and all was working without issue.
I attempted to build the project that contains this embedded Crystal Report and it complained about the license or product key. It is looking for the CrystalReports.MSI file. I inserted the CD and browsed to the file, but it said that it was not valid. I found the SP4, SP6, and SP10 packages and tried installing those, but it said that Crystal Reports XI was not installed. I can't start the Crystal Reports development package either.
I uninstalled the software and attempted to re-install. It says the Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Setup has an invalid or expired product. I had our people check and we are not aware of any expiration date on our developer package. I am currently dead in the water. I have searched Google for answers related to this question, but have not found anything. As I said, this is a legacy project that we are hoping to maintain with minimal effort until the current contract dies. Can you help?
